Morning Haze - Sailor Ted is already getting his sea legs!

Hello everyone,
Even if it had been three months since I have been at sea, we all found our sea legs after our first 48 hours at sea. We missed the start because of a last minute VHF problem and we ended up one of the last boats to leave the marina. These slow starts are not unusual for the crew of Morning Haze (that is what they told me!). Nothing to report on the 1st day as the wind was nice and the boat sailed well and by night we managed to rejoin part of the fleet. Yesterday, the wind died, was very variable and some swell...We had to make many sail changes and we were very slow. But at least we caught our 1st Mahi-Mahi...but too small for any contest. In the evening our weather software crashed so we can't download any grib files...David (the skipper) was very disappointed and is now organizing to get weather forecast from the ARC. It should be ok but it will be more difficult to plan ahead so our hope of being competitive in our class is gone with the software....Now we will sail for ourselves and have a nice crossing experience! Last night, the wind was light again but seems to want to pick up a bit this morning...we hope as Morning Haze needs a good 12-15 apparent wind to be fast. So, I will go back lying down and cuddle up against my two best friends, Demi and Rebecca. I will keep you posted.
