It is 1100 hours on Day 8 (Nov 11th) and we are about 25 miles from the finish line. Sailing last night was perfect in every way except wind direction. Would have had a close encounter with St. Thomas if we kept on sailing this morning. We are motoring East right now in order to properly enter the finish line.
The crew of Lone Star has been fantastic in every respect. Thank you Ron, Stacey and Joe. We also ate well and everything was in order thanks to all the work by Jan prior to the start of the rally. She kept us informed on world events (they had an election while we were at sea and our Aggies beat Auburn) and managed the messages from all our adoring fans during the trip. I miss her very much and am looking forward to her arrival on Friday!!
