Lexington - Captain Bob:1/7/2018

We are at sea again on a leg of about 10-12 days to St Helena. We will stay there about 3 days and then head to Salvador Brazil. We will be there for their Carnival which is the second largest in Brazil.
Our start from Capetown has been a little slow. We have had fog, mist, rain and light wind on the nose. It is Sunday afternoon and the sun is out and we have picked up 10-12 knots of wind. The forecast is for good winds for the rest of the way to St Helena. Hopefully the wind will be from the SE and allow us to use our twin headsails.
Interestingly enough another group of 40 boats has just started another World Arc from St Lucia. That is a big group. I feel for the other people in ports when they arrive. They will fill up ports and harbors. I hope they have a good ride. I wonder if they know what to expect. I hope they have as good of a collegial group as we have had. It will be hard for a bigger group.
I am looking forward to being back home and a more normal life with family. I am not like a lot of people who do this trip. There are a lot of folks that would love to spend long periods on their boats. I would love to be back in my garden watching things grow and hating weeds that grow. It is hard to change a red neck!
May fair winds fill your sails with bright sun and good wind
Bob
