Rubikon - Day 9 at sea - Relaxing and cooking

Following our slightly choppy start into the day yesterday, things calmed down a lot and the crew spent most of the afternoon relaxing and sleeping with the autopilot safely guiding us towards the west.

A couple of hours in the afternoon were used to produce a metric shit-ton of Bolognese sauce by Kai and Alex, while Jose battled with some sea-sickness while beautifully filleting a freshly caught (but rather small) Mahi-Mahi.

As this is the 6th Mahi-Mahi we have caught since we left, we implemented a policy that from now on only tunas are to bite our bait. Let's see if they listen...

The night brought some slower winds and thereby speeds, with the our current guesses for our average velocity made good for the last 24h (VMG - speed with which we got closer to St Lucia every hour) as follows:

Kai: 6.5kn
Martin: 6.4kn
Chris: 6.5kn
Alex: 6.3kn
Max: 6.6kn

We are hoping for it to be at the upper end of the scale to make up a couple of positions, but are also quite happily enjoying the sunshine and warmth on board.

Rubikon out.
