Rubikon - Day 8 on sea - quick pit-stop

Day 8 at sea for the Rubikon started slightly hectic, wind picked up to around 30kn (~55km/h), requiring us to turn into the wind and reef the sails and resulting in a number of airborne objects and crew flying in bed. Followed by a container ship trying to sink us (Winchester Straight, we know who you are) and requiring us to slow down to evade them. We also discovered some issues with our right hand engine, which seems to have the propeller entangled in some rope.

Having performed a quick (1:20h) pit-stop in Mindelo (Cape Verde) to refuel and re-provosion we had set out on the next 2000nm leg towards St Lucia on Monday afternoon. Armed with an additional supply of vegetables and only two additional papayas due to lack of availability of fruits we feel more than ready to take on the next part of the challenge.

Kai made a bunch of pancakes for everyone, while we got a chance to test a life-jacket after accidentally inflating it on-board, giving us the exciting task of re-assembling it.
Associate 3 (another ARC boat) invited us over for coffee as well, but for practicality reasons we decided on rum-punch in St Lucia instead.

Rubikon out.
