Kiloran of Edinburgh - Day 1 - The Girl Who Cried Dolphin

Following a highly competitive start yesterday, whereby we were near to
last over the line and narrowly avoided a mooning extraveganza from our
elderly skipper, there are now no boats in sight - are we going the
right way? Either way, the watermaker is working effectively following a
double blind taste test methodologically conducted by our most
scientific non-scientist, David. However, our fishing rods appear to be
very much broken. Wild Iris, who we watched (not so gradually) gain
ground on us through the night, is now out of sight but unfortunately
not out of mind, sending David and Dad to their bunks in an air of huff
as Richard, the real sailor amongst us, dutifully looks after the helm
and calls to the dolphins. David, asleep atop his sheets so as not to
distort the oragami structure he proudly architectured while folding
yesterday morning has begrudgingly been woken by Erica, the girl putting
The Boy Who Cried Wolf to shame.

Quite possibly linked to the icky sicky feeling amongst us gals - who
would really love to learn to sail at some point to disqualify some
gender stereotypes but are currently merely existing in a constant state
of drowsiness - the food served so far has been decidedly average. The
Skipper was less than impressed with the rolled dandruff (cous cous)
that was served up for lunch but was arguably deservedly punished for
serving 5 cream teas - literally - to the crew at breakfast.

Other than the above, we've seen two white sharks being chased by a
mother blue whale while Richard has caught a tuna with his bare hands,
promising fresh food and happy crew dynamics through to St Lucia.

As always, "it's nearly time to sleep isn't it?" so Over and Out.
