Adele 1 - Log Day 1 - All crew on board

Ladies and Gents,

Welcome to the log of Adele 1 in the ARC+ rally. All members for the race are now on board so I will start with a quick introduction for anyone who isnt aware of who is who on this lovely catamaran.

Firstly captain and boat owner Andrew Hakin, newly nicknamed 'Skippy' due to the fact he is both the captain and insists on flying an Australian flag off the boat despite noone here being of Aussie orientation.

Secondly cheerful South African Paul Munnik newly nicknamed 'Fishy' due to the fact he doesn't actually mind if we ever reach St Lucia as long as he catchs some form of giant marine life on the way.

Thirdly myself, George Hakin, 28 year old Englishman newly nicknamed 'Bloggie' because I have the weighty responsibility of addressing you our hundreds and thousands of adoring followers. (For which I have been told to not be too risque but lets face it unless Paul hooks a mermaid on the way across the Atlantic the likelihood of risque activity on board is minimal). For anyone who wants to know what mighty vessel is going to attempt to keep the three of us afloat, the boat is a Lagoon 42 made in France with the build finished this year. A beautiful vessel which should handle any conditions thrown at it in the coming month with ease and grace.

The next few days will be spent provisioning (buying beer, red wine and cheese) completing safety checks (ARC officials have told us its of utmost importance to tie little wrist ropes to our bilge pump handles) and as myself and Paul have never met before, getting to know each other and planning possible mutinies.Stay tuned folks.

The crew of Adele 1
