Lexington - Captain Bob : 6/12/2017

We are anchored in an area called Bay of Islands. It is on the other side of the island that we checked into. The trip around was slightly challenging in that the charts are not that accurate so Sam stood watch at the bow for most all the trip. We left at about 10 a.m. and got the anchor down at about 3. The charts can be off about 1/2 mile. A good portion of the markers are not there. We were just trying to be careful and it is confusing when you do not know whether the next mark you see is the next mark on the chart or totally missing. There are several other boats here. One couple came up to us in their dinghy to ask if we knew someone. The someone was a skipper of Hanna, a boat from Sweden whom we knew. These people are from Germany. It is a small world. We are going to the next village down tomorrow. We are going to have a dinner there as sort of a fund raiser. The people from the school are going to cook a big dinner and we will pay a fee. We also have gifts for the school. The school was destroyed by typhoon Winston recently. May fair winds fill your sails with comfortable anchorages!

Bob
