Lexington - Bob: We better be ready

Today is the final day before the start. We had a lecture on emergencies. We had a lecture on weather. We have checked out of customs and immigration. We created the to do list of about 10 things. I am finishing up programming a few numbers into the single side band radio. Each boat has a number with which we can make a direct call to use in the single side band radio. We programmed each of these numbers in so they would be readily available. We also have a group number that would contact all boats that would be in range.
The neatest thing we did was to go up the mast. Sam and I split the duties. We were putting an anti-chafing material on the spreaders since we will be doing down wind sailing which could cause chafe on our main sail where it touches the spreaders. When you are sailing, hour after hour, any two things that touch can wear through each other. That is referred to as chafe. Chafe is a major enemy on the sailboat.
Below are a few pictures taken from to top of the mast!
