Sunday 4th December

Woken up for my 1800 watch, I was told to prep for some spinnaker helming…no rush.  However on arriving on deck I was promptly summoned to spike the spinnaker.  Andrew escaped from the galley for a while and it was all available hands on deck to drop it.
After a successful drop, the reason became clear that whilst Charlie has been lying on deck, keeping an avid lookout (must have been for planes and UFO’s) he noticed a tear in the mainsail.
Ricky (after a silent fight for the job between himself, Andrew and I) grabbed his harness, a bag full of bits and monkeyed up the mast.  Whilst clattering around up there he did his best impression of Peter Pan, creating Ricky shaped shadows on the mainsail.
After the photoshoot was over, feet back on dry land (or as dry land-ish a boat mid-Atlantic can be) he signed autographs and got back to the business of sailing.  This time under poled out yankee 1.
I enjoyed a little squall earlier in the day, and on hearing what I thought was another at 0400 got up to help with the next one – turns out we were just gybing :0.
Very sleepy today, sunsights then bed!
