Jasmine - Day 7

--Great night sailing on instruments only last night and very good progress made. A mostly pitch black night due to cloud but at around three it cleared for half an hour
in the north and Joxer and I were treated to a display of stars ,intensely bright and most notably visible right down to the horizon .
The wind remains the same ,thats the nature of the trade winds I suppose.
Today its raining with many rain squalls which we are becoming accustomed to ,it blew force 8 in one and Bill registered a record 15.4 knots on the front of a wave.
There was a witness so thats probably going to hold for the trip. All in all the sailing is exhilarating as the seas build in the steady wind. We are still sailing by hand which keeps us busy ,the time flies.
Reefing up and down and checking for chafe regularly are very necessary tasks but our lightfooted skipper Nick is so nimble on the foredeck we complete them quickly.
Mike and Joxer are making plans to remove and repair a sensor in our generator but its in the stern of the boat with external access, , we will be waiting for calm weather for that. In the meantime no one has showered or shaved and with Mike turning out culinary masterpieces the discussions around food abound. We think we will put his recipes together and call it The Hairy Sailors Cookbook by M Hodder.
