Venturer II - VENTURER II Captain Slog Day 2

Not much to report today but should take some positives from it

Celia and I are back on speaking terms again. Trying to fold a 150% Genoa on the deck yesterday in supersonic winds put our pretty solid 35 year marriage in jeopardy. The event also made me realise I am skipper in name only. Also I have just discovered that there are no bacon butties planned for the morning. Maybe if I am not really the skipper that means I am the crew and I could mutiny....not sure what that will achieve.

I have been to 2 briefings now in the lighthouse. It reminds me of the crooked house that used to come to Barnet Fair. It also reminds me of our house, but that's another story.i haven't actually gleaned much from the meetings apart from the surprising thing that all the people seem nice and normal. No smart ass or bore spotted (yet ) that you usually get on Sunsail "holiday"

Was concerned about the standard of our passage plan but the Arc people seem very laid back about it. Just keep warm and watch out for weed is the message. Talking to others it seems "head south and do your best" I am a bit concerned that one person said the wind will be coming from the east tomorrow. Jeremy will be on that pontoon quite late methinks.

13 hours tomorrow , what are we going to do . Bake off at Sea ? How about a "Late Arrivals at the Arc Rally " on the Group MMSI at one tomorrow (BST)

Oh well good luck everyone tomorrow --hopefully see you in the only country in the world with tanks that have a reverse gear.

Captain (in name only ) Slog out
