Mariposa - Log day 7, Dressed

We departed Cape Canaveral on May 5th heading for Bermuda. Our crossing was mostly uneventful except for our first day at sea. King Neptune decided to test the teams ability to work together in a high stress situation. That being 12'-14' seas and steady 25 knts winds, a stuck rolling fuller with the full jib out, and full main up. We needed to reef the main badly but had to solve the stuck jib problem first.

Even though 3 members of the team had never met until the day before departure everyone came together to work as a team to solve the problems efficiently and quickly.

Everyone adjusted well to the helm duty and on call duty quickly.

We arrived in Bermuda on May 11th by 10am under sunny clear skies. The team took the remainder of the day to relax and get caught up on some sleep.

Today we tackle boat chores before play.

Here is SV Mariposa all dressed out in her finest.

Should you want to follow us and read more details about our trans-atlantic crossing follow us at: klapperblog.wordpress.com

You I'll see that the blog is under SV Poerava, that's because my husband and I live on her full time normally. We jumped at the opportunity to do the ARC Europe with our friend Neal on Mariposa.
