EH01 - Zoom Zoom Zoom

Hola,

After yesterday mornings fun and games we had a fantastic day and nights
sailing. The winds have truly been in our favour over the last 24 hours with
a constant 15-20 knots blowing at around 120 degrees off our port side. Pure
GLAMOUR sailing.

Yesterday evenings sunset was another to remember. The sun shining bright
red through broken squalls gave us a stunning back drop whilst we were
eating our dinner. I was trying to work out roughly how many sunrises and
sunsets at sea I had seen yesterday... Its funny that no matter how many you
get to see, you never get bored of them!

As always the crew have been working hard keeping the spinnaker flying for
over 48 hours now. This is harder than it sounds as its not just the
trimming and driving that you need to be concerned about. Constant checks
for the offshore sailors arch nemesis 'chafe' around all the sheets, guys
and other lines has made for a tiring few days! As I am writing this the
wind has just headed further forward so the crew are preparing to re hoist
the head sail then drop the kite. This will provide us with a good chance to
inspect all the lines and sheets involved and give our trusty fractional
spinnaker a well earned break!

The forecast is still looking good for the next couple of days, hopefully
providing similar wind angles and strengths to allow us to blast down our
lay line towards St Lucia. After receiving todays position report it looks
like we had one of highest VMGs in our fleet yesterday which was a great
boost to the crew. We have made some good ground on some of the other front
runners in our fleet and are doing our best to try and keep up with the ever
slippy 'Scarlet Oyster' and 'Captain Blind'.

The crew are looking forward to passing the 1000 miles to go mark which I
estimate we will pass in around 4 hours. Then as they say 'Its all down hill
from here'!!! That's about all for now, more to come tomorrow!!

Nick and Crew
