Monomotapa - 27 November

Monomotapa 27 November

Last night at the beginning of the watch the sky had a thick cloud cover, which helped keep the temperature up, but hid the stars from view. As the night progressed the clouds started to break and bit by bit the beautiful show of stars appeared until the complete dome of celestial glory was in full view. Looking at the night sky searching for shooting stars and wherever you looked the more stars you could see and wonder at the vastness of the universe.

At around 4.00 am we saw lights from a boat astern, when looking at the AIS we fund out that it was a commercial vessel some 60 meters lg. As it passed by it appeared to be some kind of passenger vessel.

We are progressing well and the forecast for today is good 15 knots NNE and then the day after tomorrow the wind will drop to below 10 knots. It could be a good day for some sun bathing and maybe watching a film. Or just catching up on some sleep. Suggested movies are Titanic, All is lost, Cast away and Mutiny on the Bounty.

This is our forth day at sea and we have passed 72 h. At 72 h we had traveled 550 nm and have still 2200 to go. Yesterday we had shower day which improved the moral and the environment.
