Firefly - Into the Southern Hemisphere

Just after 8AM local time on Wednesday, Neptune's wife, looking very fetching in her pink silk komono, face mask and floppy hat (Paul dressed up ) rose from the depths (well the cabin) complete with a trident (made from a boat hook) and welcomed us across the Equator. We gave offerings to Neptune and the sea - a glass of bubbly and home made carrot cake and we crossed safely to the Southern Hemisphere. The crew consumed the rest of the bubbly kindly given to us by the team on Celebrate and had quite a jolly party. It proved difficult to get back into the watch system after all this excitement.

We are now at anchor on Isla San Cristobal with the sea lions swimming around the back of Firefly. On the way in we were followed by a shark a little distance and saw a whale breach and a huge ray jump as well as flocks of seabirds. We are looking forward to seeing the amazing wildlife on GALAPAGOS over the next two weeks.
