World ARC Rendez Vouz in Musket Cove

World ARC Rendez Vouz in Musket Cove
Tuesday, 03 July, 2012

Almost half of the World ARC fleet have now arrived at the marina of Musket Cove Resort on Malolo Leilei Island, Fiji. The fleet here already are all berthed alongside the Yacht Club’s pontoon and are enjoying catching up on the news of the last few weeks of free cruising around Tonga & Fiji and enjoying all the facilities and services which the Resort has to offer.

Most of the fleet spent a week or so in the Kingdom of Tonga, free cruising around the islands of the Vava’u group before making the 450 nautical mile passage to a port of entry in Fiji. After some time completing international clearances, the yachts made their way westwards. Port Denarau on the south western corner of Vitu Levu was well visited with World ARC yachts, with 10-12 boats moored there at anyone time. It is then only a short hop from Port Denarau to Musket Cove.

Here in Musket Cove there is a great selection of facilities for eating and meeting, with several bars and restaurants, In addition there is a full social and briefing programme for the skippers and crews before the fleet leave for Vanuatu on Saturday 07 July. The social programme will open tomorrow evening with a Cocktail Party, hosted by Musket Cove Resort and Marina, and then a delicious Fijian BBQ.

During Thursday the crews will have the chance to compete in an 'Acitivities Afternoon' on the beach before a crew supper altogether provided by World ARC, at the Dick's Place Restaurant. World ARC has received a fantastic reception at Musket Cove and looks forward to a great couple of days on the island.
