Louise - Blog 3 - 1st Day At Sea

Great to depart the harbour with all my other fellow ships and “Las Palmas” waving and playing music wishing us fair winds.
We all wantede to leave but also a bit sad to say goodbye to friends and the lovely people who had made our stay very sepcial.
Start for our division was at 11.00, we crossed the line 11.08. Boats everywhere and smiling crews – mine were smiling eventhoug the cock had a fever and the rest suffer from some kind of virus.
Well time for the crew to make their final calls to friends and family. I spotteded a big smile on the commanders face during a conversation, and the captain started jumping. Reason? On Yellow Brick his friends had been following us during start and it was now 4 hours later +/-. We were no. 1 in our devision, and in the whole cruising devision! Well we sailed close to the coast as the commander did not expect a lot of disturbance from the acceleration zones.
What a start on the dream of our life.
Nice and easy sailing, the we ran into a wind fall, and had to start the motor. Happy to get the wind back but with that also some wawes of 3 to 4 m and me dancing jitterbug with them. Can you imagine, how the atmosphere is inside the boat when the crew starts hearing crash, slams and bangs. They were so sure they had stowed well. The Cock had to leave the sick bed and started hunting the appel family who had cut their net and started go visiting in cubboards and dancing all over the pantry. When the cock thought she had got them all, Mr cabbage remindede her on checking the other nets by swinging her full in the head. And also a reminder that we need new lockerGreatings because pots and pans we also take part in the dance.
The Captain found rest in the saloon to be able to assiste the Commander on deck. I do not know what happened, but he took a slide from one side to the other and knocked down the dining table and all it´s contents were on the sleeping Captain.
What a meery ship we are! To put it short, we ran in to some nasty weather last night but today the crew is fresh and smiling (maybe due to the new body colours blue yellow and black).
Well I’m off for now – going to enjoy this beautiful sunny day with a nice wind, right now 17 kts later expecting up to 22 kts and gusts 27, wawes 3 metres – perfect.
