Club Carp - Spinnaker at Sea

Another breezy evening and morning gave us a lovely sail but has been followed by a lackluster afternoon. Fortunately, after each of our night shifts, we were rewarded with Belgium chocolates on our pillows and clean towels folded in various entertaining shapes. The shapes of our Captain's "towel Origami" included a rabbit, an elephant, and what looked like a fruit basket filled with one banana and two oranges...the Captain has a twisted sense of humor but always tries to keep the crews' spirits up.

This afternoon, we did our best to harness the dying wind with our bright yellow spinnaker, but ultimately resorted to running our engine again. We have heard multiple fish tails from our neighboring boats, but have yet to catch anything ourselves. This has not been due to a lack of trying as we have used every lure in our tackle box and managed to catch every rogue piece of seaweed from Norfolk to the middle of the Bermuda triangle. And we haven't even been able to land a random Kamikaze flying fish onto our deck either. Maybe at dusk tonight...fingers crossed...otherwise it's spiral cut ham and canned green beans for us. Fortunately, our Chef can work wonders with about anything and has our full support. And our youngest crew member has an insane obsession with hot peppers, that everyone wonders if he can actually taste anything. Plus, cocktails at sunset always help too.

Dog quote of the day #5: "Dogs find you amusing when you are drunk."
