Club Carp - The Return of the Windi

Shortly after posting yesterday's blog and devouring a spectacular home-cooked Carpenter meatloaf, the winds returned in strength making for adventurous night shifts. After reefing the main and jib, followed by lots of sail trimming, we settled into a nice cruising speed (8+ knots) under an almost full moon. However, along with the winds came the waves (8-12 feet), which left the the crew in the mid and forward cabins hanging on for dear life. (Please note that the Captain sleeps in the calmer rear quarters.)

The youngest crew member delegated to the forward v-berth swears that he spent more time levitating than lying on his actual mattress (feel the force, may the power of the Windi be with you!). As daylight broke, all crew members slowly crawled up on deck to be rewarded, after a hard nights work, with eggs, bacon and English muffins (the Captain does his best to make all crew members feel at home, even the Brit!) Of course, while making breakfast, the youngest crew member levitated out of the galley on more than one occasion, but fortunately no milk was spilt or eggs broken. Despite the difficulties of staying on one's feet in strong weather, it is always better than listening to the 110hp diesel beast.

Dog quote of the day #4: "Dogs agree that you have to raise your voice to get your point across."
