Abigail - Fading winds

Good morning. It's a little after 0900 AST here aboard Abigail. Yesterday we saw the wind slowly fade away. Throughout the day and night we resisted the temptation to start the engine and motor and were too lazy to put up the spinnaker, so we sailed along under working sails. Pointing the boat roughly were we wanted to go, and trying to keep it moving. This morning we finally gave up and fired up the "iron genny." We are currently motoring on a glassy sea. There are silver linings, however, to the lack of wind. We have run the watermaker and filled t he water tanks; Ron and I showered (a real treat) and we are able to keep the hatches open for fresh air below. Right now Bernie and Pat are asleep after handling the 0300 to 0600 watch. Its a beautiful mostly sunny day as we search for wind and I am in shorts for the first time.
