Firefly - Landfall ahoy!

The final part of the trip with less than 250 nautical miles to go is a bit of a sleigh ride but is proving to be more testing than the earlier part of our passage due to the wind strength of 20-25 knots and relatively large waves (around 5 metres) coming from behind and across our track. The sea has been kicked up into something resembling a caldron of stewball (only bright blue in colour). On the subject of food the sea conditions have not made preparing meals that easy either. Fortunately we have a safety line strapping us into the galley and a cooker on gimbals but we still have to be quick to keep supper in the pan when we go over the top of a wave catching the odd item of flying crockery or cutlery, washing up (yes we do) is not much easier. For men unfamiliar with the art of multi-tasking we are coping rather well. We are still eating fresh food and the melon should last us until Antigua.

Paul , Murray, Peter and Grateful (dodging cutlery)
