Swan Valhalla - Log 15 - Half way!!

Last night we had extra nibbles AND champagne AND mahi mahi to celebrate reaching half way (1500 miles to go!)

We sailed into the evening, with some dark looking clouds ahead. And sure enough, at about 11pm we went through a heavy squall with winds of up to 18 knots. We were goose-winging the genoa on the spinnaker pole at this point, so many hands on deck helped to furl it in and keep the boat under control. For the rest of the night there was a steady wind of about 12-14 knots, which meant the motor stayed off all night.

The morning bought some more sunshine and blue skies and the spinnaker went up. Unfortunately the wind died at about 11am and it was time for a swim - much to the excitement of Matt who had been below deck all morning carving up the remainders of our dried ham, the smell of which was beginning to waft into Haig's bunk in the saloon! We are getting into our routine now of a little bit of sailing, sunbathing, fishing, swimming and pilates, interspersed with Yoyo's delicious grub - the perfect combination!
