Second Wind - Things to do on a yacht

The Sun rises every day but the bread dough does not. As we cannot sail Second Wind due to light winds we have plenty of time to experiment in an almost level galley. We bought some bread mix packets and these do not rise but still taste good but baking from scratch is improving (no pun intended). My recipes are firmly based upon those of Paul Hollywood for you UK people and being away for several weeks I can also grow a goatee like his. My wife will be pleased.
As I am Provisioning Officer my ARC motto is "be nice or starve". Not much danger of that however as we stripped Dino's supermarket on several occasions as it always seemed that we should buy just one more bar of chocolate or bottle of water just in case. Eventually I was physically restrained from going shopping.
Daily inspection of fruit and veg reveals a casualty rate trending to 20% as fruit goes soft and overripe. Pear crumble was our "don't waste it" plan yesterday. I had no idea how to do pear crumble but nobody said a word after they had eaten it.
Maybe the wind will pick up soon so we can get back to eating straight out of the tin. Will report again - Glyn.
