Gillean - Day 3 Almost Home

Well today is Wednesday, our third full day at sea, and we're almost home. We should arrive in Newport tomorrow night, possibly around 9pm. It would be nicer to enter during daylight hours, but we'll happily take whatever we get. Last night, Kevin took the brunt of the night watches, seeing the highest and most confused seas of the evening. At the end of his watch, I think he was ready to come down below to a warm bunk, regardless of how lumpy the ride was. He mentioned this morning he was thinking about how he could articulate to Elizabeth his first experience crossing the Gulf Stream at night. I offered the liking to "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" at Disney World. It's difficult to convey how awesome the ocean is; what it looks, sounds and feels like at the time, both above and below deck. We all agreed how comforting it is to be on such a solid boat. We enjoyed a beautiful day today, free of squalls, and somewhat calmer seas. The chill is beginning to fill the air. As Gill said to us over the radio chat last night, we'd better be prepared for New England in May - cold and fog! Bye-bye Caribbean...but home never looked so good!
