Good day to all of you,

Yesterday round 4 o’ clock UT we crossed the half way mark; 1450 nm covered and about 1450 to go. In the nice warm sun we enjoyed a small beer and jokes around this mile stone.
After that three crew members had a bucket shower with salt water sitting on the aft deck. Some of us did some washing of clothing and we are still trying to get it all dry. Unfortunately this takes long because off the salt. The water maker is dearly missed on these moments.
Dinner was a very good variation of curry with rice. The curry’s taste was dominated by ginger and orange which was well appreciated.

Early evening the wind had dropped to more normal strengths of about 20-24 kts, but the sea state was still quite high. The night started easy and we could cool the cabin a little. On our longitudes and date the moon rises late. Round midnight local time the clouded moonset started to light the sky. Before the moonrise the dark sky was scattered with millions of stars as far at it was not covered by cumulus clouds.
The night passed rather easy, we had reefed in the period of stronger winds and early morning round 0720 UT we could unreef. We had only one flying fish affaire but it landed on the aft deck and missed Galileo at the helm. Confused it laid there with it wings spread out wide till Jacko pushed it back into the sea.

As I am typing this we are chacing an X65 which is about 6 nm in front of us. We all are very curious about the position ranking which we receive when we upload this blog. We are having brunch made of bacon and eggs and bread.
We are heading towards a small and northerly moving area of very little winds. Yesterday we could see that many other ARC yachts are heading on a course to just pass south of it. It would be nice to see some more boats.

Dad – Happy Birthday from John / Trasher from halfway across the Atlantic

Callum – really enjoyed the surprise card in my bag – and no I didn’t sneak any beer on board – thx for your message

Joshua / Evie – no one has fallen overboard and we are all clipped on for safety reasons. Sorry I / we can’t swim with the whales or dolphins as we can’t stop – never mind . The waves are currently 2 – 3 metres high – thx for you message

Dad, Callum, Joshua and Evie – see you all at Christmas – John / Trasher

Tom Archer – Happy Birthday mate, be in touch soon!

Greetzz to you all from the Lancelot II crew
