El Mundo - 26/11 - Day 2 Frustrating winds

After the previous windy day, Tuesday was a lot more variable. It started well with a sunny morning and good sailing breeze. Bob was even sun bathing on the stern seat in his 'Tropics' hat! The wind gradually decreased until we were just rolling around with the rig crashing and the sails flapping....very uncomfortable and the noise grates on the nerves. Again we motored for about 2 hours and still only managed to find a gentle breeze but it allowed us to rig the boat goose-winged and head a bit further south.
In the meantime, Amanda had great success with the SSB radio, having a long conversation with Juno and joining the ARC SSB net for the first time. This may not sound like a big achievement but it would appear that operating an SSB is somewhat of a black art!
Dinner was also memorable, as we enjoyed Bob & Lincy's Belgian Carbonade of Beef, accompanied with mashed potatoes and carrots.....fantastic!
It's a bit of a grey morning but we have 300 mile on the log and sailing along steadily at 6 knots.
