Easy Rider - Captain's Log...Day 5

Yesterday We had a pleasant morning sailing sedately down wind & sunbathing........by the afternoon we were dodging squalls. Large black clouds would come steaming up behind us, bringing with them high winds (upto 30 knots) & heavy rain. Fortunately they would only last for 10 minutes or so & then the wind would calm down again. One advantage of the heavy rain is that it flattens the sea. So during the squall we were sailing extremely fast without the big waves to contend with.

Yesterday being a SUNDAY, it was roast duck for dinner with all the trimmings. From six till seven the wind & rain calmed down, allowing us all to sit and enjoy our favorite dinner washed down with an exellent bottle of Spain's finest red wine.

We hadn't even had time to finish the washing up when all hell broke loose again......another 30 knot squall and rain so hard you couldn't see through it!!

Just another average day in the mid Atlantic!!
