Lone Star - Day 4 - Weather Challenges

Last night and today we are experiencing uncomfortable sailing conditions as we sail through a low pressure trough. Winds have been as high as 25 and wave heights as high as 8 feet. The angle of the waves caused a bit of pounding for a while and we singled reefed our sails to straighten up the boat. That made the ride more comfortable and our excitement this afternoon has been trying to dodge the squalls we see ahead of us on radar. We are currently heading for one of two way points Chris Parker provided in his weather report today.

One, for an area extending 100 miles out from it, had the "worst" conditions and the other was an area that had the "least worse" conditions. It may be a surprise to some but we choose the "least worse" way point which is approximately 80 miles ahead of us. After that we hope to experience improving conditions.

Fair winds,
Craig
