Starla - Log Day 12 - Rolling the Dice

Hello Everyone,

Distance logged today - 86 nautical miles. Distance to date this trip - 1329 nautical miles. Remaining miles to St Lucia 1667.

The wind at our current position is virtually none existent, 2 kn from the north - north west. The trough is a really bad spot to be and it extends for a hundred miles or so.

We have decided to roll the dice, turn on our engine and motor for 150 miles to the south west to try and pick up the trade winds. We will have a time penalty added to our rally time, however, we would have been stuck around our previous position for a few days! Let's hope that it pays off. Fingers crossed everybody.

I made a chilli con carne last night that nearly blew the crew's heads off. A little to generous with the Chilli powder. It served us for lunch today as well.

Sun has been shinning all morning, with just one squall.

The crew are in good spirits.

Regards,

Starla Crew
