Azzurra - Day 4 Genoa Repair

Day 4 Genoa repair
This night as well the morning we were on a parking situation somewhere in
the Atlantic. Wind was between 1 and 3 knots and what we needed not at
all, shifting from south to west. Of cause our mileage could not improve.
We used the time in the morning to repair our Genoa. The ocean was like a
mirror making it easy to go up the mast twice. A cut from the top down 15
meter on the Genoa leech, resulted by the low wind and the swell hitting
the Genoa on the spreaders. We used spinnaker ‘Duck ’tape for the repair
hope it will make it to St. Lucia. Brian took care of the Crew and cooked
a wonderful lunch. Right after we left our parking position, a light wind
came up letting us run 4 to 6 knots, hope this carries on.
Paul’s dinner, our crew member from Dallas, cocked exceptional Texas
Mexican tortilla with excellent peppers and Dallas meat.
2467 Miles to go. Today we found out we will not be the first. Those who
know us will know we will do better. We are all trying hard doing what we
can. Sitting around when there is no wind, active when we need to be to
make progress. Great Crew!
This morning all four of us prayed to the weather God, not to Mr. Gibbs,
but to the real one. At noon he could arrange some wind making us going.
Tomorrow we pray harder catching up the fleet.
Mirror Sea is ahead of us, as well time to easy relax, then after dirty
weather. Right now we still looking to find a passage with some wind
taking us north.
