Day 2 Friday 18th October
We awoke to a very calm sea and hardly any wind
which meant motor sailing but this also gave us the opportunity to spend some
time cleaning and tidying so we were all ship shape by lunchtime. Sa;ad
with ham, salami and cheese followed by tea and brioche. We all had
showers at some point as the water tanks were showing almost full and we
generated water to replace what we had used.........I turned on the tap......no
water!! The tanks hold 300 gallons - where had it gone?
So now we have another problem to resolve but as
the wind got up and there was a lot of motion our dinner was the next priority
before we started the night watch. Chicken with Boursin cheese
wrapped in Palma ham with new potatoes and green beans went down well. No
wine as the crossings are all alcohol free. We had an extra guest for
dinner - a little bird ,exhausted from trying to fly against the wind, joined
us. He stayed all nght and hopped on to my bed this morning. I held
out my hand and he jumped on. I carried him up to the cockpit and off he
flew tweeting away and then he came back! Just to say thank you I
think.
