Orion - Week 2, Wednesday 5th

We continue our quest without seeing much of the outside world. I imagine we will start seeing other yachts from now on when we converge with the other routes. The watches are getting a bit harder now and we swap to steer more often to avoid tiredness and loss of concentration. Other than that here everybody remains in good spirit.

Alexei today however has been slightly disappointed with the fishes after yesterday 5 kg dorada, but he will keep trying. Barbara has been in the laundry and we have a colorful display of underwear on deck. Rune tried to eat his dinner before it was ready. Henrik and I fought over the fridge the whole morning with mixed results. It is fun indeed. We are also very excited because we have passed the half way point. Unfortunately we do not have champagne to celebrate it... do we? DOMINGO

Keith runs a dry boat so no alcoholic celebrations until we reach St Lucia, we will make do with chocolate instead. I took sun shots today with the sextant to obtain our position while the boys cleaned out the fridge so it's an equal opportunities boat as well. Saw more flying fish today but whenever I get the camera out they disappear. I might have to ask Keith to sing again....oh no! Barbara.

Yesterday night close the boat we saw a whale. The night was dark and we are listen to it. Wind is not good. Our speed slowly! We passed only half our distance! We need wind! Strong downwind! Alex.

I think that something is lost in the translation from Russian to English. My favorite of breakdowns on a passage, we don't have enough electricity to run the fridge so it was eat as much as you can before it becomes uneatable. The whole crew put up a good show, we may be plumper and of course we can sail a lighter boat faster. Keith
