Laissez-faire - Ode

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria treated us well

So did the spanish girls in old town but a gentlemen never tells (side note: spanish girls are phenomenally good looking and I will be back to find my wife)
Race delayed until the tuesday, so what?

Time for another whiskey with Tom the mad bastard Scot.
Last minute admin to run, washing to do, lures to buy, nothing need to be underdone
Faces were starting to get serious so we thought we'd chill on some roots, reggae and rum.
Race starts, wind quite fresh and we hit a nice hole
Laissez-faire up and running, even had to use the pole.
Winds started to get fresh to death,
that was gona turn our lamb roast in to a mess,
the meat may have suffered some bruising…
what the f**k we thought this was cruising!
Couple days in and sleeping was niggly
at least the 5 o'çlock cheeseboard comes around quickly.
Things started to calm down and we started to get in to our work
sorry to keep talking about food but jesus we don't mind a roast pork.
Ladies, Joe will cook anything under pressure
he's even not bad in bed when he's under the weather.
Rick's taking up blogging and has become quite a hit
quite funny that he's only just managed to take a s**t.
Norm has been a steady hand on weather and wheel
even one arm behind the back bowlines by feel.
Mack as usual is up to his old tricks, running the genset for all to hear
for gods sake run the air con, we're nude and its still too hot to bear.
Tom the rookie is still talking about the girl he left back in port.
but there is plenty of time in St Lucia to court.
Things started to calm down and George the auto helm took charge
more important things came to mind and the warm blue water loomed large
half way point and we were throwing them back,
Dorado sashimi before the cheeseboard was a new tack.
Fried the rest up and that was that.
Downhill now till the finish and the mood is light
Please winds we would appreciate you not showing your might.
We wouldn't like you and the swell to meet
that would mean our bayleys would be without ice and neat.
Good luck to everyone and have a safe race
See you in St Lucia, pity you couldn't share the chocolate cake.

Yours Sincerely

Laissez Faire
