Here another update from fishing vessel Ostrea. Yesterday was a big hunting day for all of us. The rod went RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and we had a big marlin on the line (ca 2 meters). We had to use garden gloves to bring her to the stern of the boat and after 1 hour of hard work we finally managed to get a close look but she escaped in the end. We have the marlin on video so there lots of proof :). Cedric caught his 9th Mahi mahi today and every night we catch approx 3 to 4 flying fish on the deck by accident. today we changed lure to a bigger steel wire one so we are ready for the real big boys.
The wind is finally less now. Yesterday we had 35 kn of wind. Today 22 to 25 knots and the outlook is that it will stay like this or even less. Also the waveheight is getting more comfortable.
Tonight we celebrate Sinterklaas with presents for the kids and tomorrow we celebrate our halfwayparty!! A bottle of champagne or wine is well deserved then. All crew is doing well and its great to be halfway already.
