Luna Quest - Saturday, 28th March 2015

Noon Position: 9.36S 137.51W

Logged run: 83 miles
Measured run: 107 miles

We have run under the parasailor now since last Sunday in gentle and moderate breezes. There are only 75 miles to go and at the current speed of 4 knots we expect to arrive in the early hours of Sunday. Today is another glorious day with bright sunshine and scattered cumulus clouds and the occasional squall, which are not dangerous and mostly dry unlike the squalls in the Atlantic. On April 1st there are some local activities laid on in the neighbouring island, which is only an hour’s sail away. Because of the thick growth of seaweed and crustaceans underneath the boat, we may have to go to Nuku Hiva for a scrape, as there do not appear to be any divers available in Hiva OA. There will not be a blog (probably for about 5 days) until we set sail again either for Hiva OA or Tahiti with a few islands in-between. In Tahiti Luna Quest will be hauled out for a pressure wash and new anti-foul.
