Hugur - Sailing well today

Day 4 Wednesday 12 Nov

This morning we have passed half way point to Cape Verdes, Yey ! This was  celebrated with a corn snaps and German bistro cafĂ© with Elba stones (sweets from Elba) a gift from our guest Pascall. This we enjoyed after our midday meal.

From midnight the wind finally has picked up and we have been sailing finally.

Interpid Elk has long gone passed us during the night. They have been tacking steady and making good headway.

We have tried to call up the SY Outrageous both on the VHF and shiphone, after request by email from the ARC rally control, but with out result. Outrageous had reported seeing a red flare. I do hope everything is well with the boat that fired flares last night and all are safe. Nothing has been heard from any boats, nor any other flares seen either.

Now when sailing we run the generator a couple of times a day to keep the batteries good. 372 nautical miles to go..

Atmosphere on board Hugur is relaxed, everyone is well.

Looks like late Friday or early Saturday estimated arrival in Mindelao.
