Alchemy - Swell Hell

Three days towards Tortola and about 350 miles. The low pressure forecast seems to have slipped north of us as planned, as we stayed a more southerly course to duck under it. But now the wind has dropped and we are feeling the effects of the low with the gift of 8-12 swell that has been sent our way. Alchemy plunges hi on the crest and the bow buries into the next as we begin to turn more directly into them to gain easterly.

Chanticleer, another rally boat is seven miles off our starboard. The fleet has almost separated into several small groups, perhaps based on the weather forecasts they are using.

The crew are beginning to get used to the four hour watch schedules. My watch gets to see sunrises, the other gets to see sunsets. Some tiredness and some odors are starting to creep in as the motion of the boat becomes more wearing.

We still have our lines out trolling. Three of the fleet have caught something already, hopefully we can be the forth.

Night is beginning to fall, and we are making preparations to tidy the bat in case we hit the last of the low. That, and trying to figure what to have for dinner. Our provisioned is seasick and we are rummaging through the lockers trying to figure out what he bought!
