Millport II - Ted's Diary

Day 16: Today was really really hot. It was so hot that Mum and Dad said that we didn't have to do any school work today. There is no wind and the water looks really shiny and flat. This afternoon to cool down we all went swimming. It was lovely but a little strange as well because we are so far away from any land. Karen got stung by a jelly fish tentacle but she is ok. She said that it was just a tentacle that must have fallen off a jelly fish and it wasn't too sore. Spaghetti Bog for dinner and then Robert, Karen, Mum and I played Bean Farmer, Karen won. Dad said that the wind should come back tomorrow.

Day 17: The wind came back so we are sailing again. I had lots of school work to do and it took ages. Then Robert and I played with our Lego. Mum said that we will be using the last of the fresh meat today (Caribbean Lamb again) so hurray I can fish again tomorrow. I hope I catch another Mahi mahi, they are yummy. Mum made a mistake when she was cooking this evening and went to squirt fairy liquid into the dinner instead of olive oil. She felt very silly but it was ok, the dinner didn't taste soapy!

Day 18: Today we had eggs for breakfast. I really like porridge but I am a bit sick of having it every day. Mum gave us all a big box of Quality Street chocolate to share because we reached the half way point. I hope it doesn't take another 18 days to get to St Lucia! The wind is really strong and Dad said it is too wavy to fish. Maybe tomorrow it will be ok. Karen made pasta for dinner tonight, it was really good.

Day 19: Today Mum said that we should start decorating the boat for Christmas. Myself and Robert spent all day drawing decorations then colouring them in and cutting them out. Mum found some blue-tack for us to stick them up with, we are not allowed to use sellotape on the timber. It was great fun. Dinner tonight was roast chicken with ranch style beans, it was yummy.

Day 20: Skippers breakfast today, two eggs and rashers with ketchup. It is really windy today, Dad said there are lots of squalls. We made streamers today with crepe paper and hung them up around the boat. Mum played some Christmas music on the iPod so we felt very festive, especially when we got to have some more of Karen's Mum's Christmas cake as a snack. It is really bouncy so everything keeps sliding off the table, Karen said it was "extreme" arts and crafts.
