Skyelark of London - Stowaway foods, A Skyelark review!

We are entering our final week at sea, and it's fair to say that the
supplies are dwindling, the last of the fresh fruit was eaten this morning
and all but the frozen veg is gone. We now look through the fridge only
picking the most 'ripe & ready' produce to go into today's lunches so that
we eke out a bit of freshness for everyday. On a yacht that prides itself
on excellent food, and with a hungry and demanding crew- what are we going
to do?

Usually we would turn to our stores of pre made and frozen meals, lovingly
prepared in Las Palmas and enroute, or the long life cupboard staples such
as bacon and pesto pasta! This year however we have a new plan, we have
kindly been given a supply of pre made, ambient ready meals from Stowaway
foods. Having heard that sailing with Skyelark is all about eating your way
across the Atlantic, who could be a better a choice for a sea trial, than
us?

To put the products in perspective, they are the kind of thing you see
lining the fridges of M&S except they are in minimal packaging, last up to a
year and can literally be stowed anywhere onboard. We were so impressed with
the samples that we received that we ordered a whole load more for our
pacific adventure for those legs where good produce, particularly long life
isn't available. As a result we loaded over 300 portions onboard into all of
the odd shaped lockers and spaces that are no good for anything else, and
they disappeared with ease.

The meals are extremely tasty and varied, the first night we did a blind
test and served Chilli Con Carne. It appeared in minutes and the crew
thought we had prepared it in advance, high praise all around. Only then did
we admit it was bought in. In the coming few days we are expecting
increased winds and seas, it's also getting progressively hot down below, so
anything that reduces galley time is much obliged.. and then there is the
reduced washing up.

If stowaway can just crack some nice sauces to compliment our fish catching...
