Skara Brae - the trades at last

Finally we have the wind at more than a whisper and in the right direction:-)

After a wee night of rain and Squall, the wind shifted from south to north and went from 6kts to 12kts so we are already belting along at 7.5kts average and as the trades deepen we will get faster towards St Lucia and the long awaited beer.

We are officialy a dry boat - with all beer, wind and spirits depleted, unless you count shirleys 1/2 bottle of Baileys Irish Cream - which will get tanned tonight LOL.

All books on board have been read and swapped - and we are now reading sailing books - which maybe we should have read before we started this journey LOL.

After 2 weeks at sea we have covered 1860nm (200 more than planned) we have 1150nm left so at 7.5kts avg we will be there in 6.5 days but we expect to do better than that and hope to be in St Lucia by Sat night (if the wind stays with us!), which is 2 days before Tosh's flight home - he says he cannae do 10 hours at 700miles/hr on a jet the same distance that he just did at 5kts for 3 weeks at! , he says his nerves wont take it, well at least not until he has had some beers to bring him back to normality LOL

cheers fae Skara Brae
