Shine - Day 9: And then there were three

As per yesterday's prediction, we spent a rather frustrating night fluctuating between no wind, and rain squalls with high wind. Consequently, kites various were up and down like a whore's drawers culminating in the destruction of the S3 spinnaker .Ironically, this occurred in light wind so it undoubtedly had a weakness.

However, three more in the locker before we take to the oars, so the race is still on, and we are still in a good position. Importantly, the Fabulous Baker Boys continue to churn out a couple of fresh loaves every morning, which is greatly appreciated by the rest of the crew. Less good news is the rapidly dwindling beer stores, so at some time before St Lucia, daily Happy Hour may well have to comprise the ingredients that we have the most of.........malt whisky, milk and Branston Pickle !

The satellite phone is not working at present, and until it does, this report is going nowhere. Assuming it comes back to life (but as we all know, assumption is the mother of all f **k-ups)

I'll send another

missive tomorrow.

Pepys ;-)
