Moondancer - Monday 2nd December 14.00

After Saturday mornings high seas we had the joy of the edges of the Tropical storm. We new we were far enough South to escape it but nobody mentioned the associated squalls tracking down towards Verdes.

We were very lucky. The first I knew was when I heard Rob shout f..k. thinking it was just he's usual half hour toe stub I carried on regardless then I saw lightning. We reassured ourselves it was flashes from a distance from trop storm but on my watch suddenly the wind dropped , an ugly black mass starting catching us up and lightning appeared either side. Panic ! Dropped the sails motor on, collected wind ,sails back up and away.

We now know that many unfortunate boats were caught with 50-70 mph winds, rain, lightning and collected damage. Best wishes to all of them.

Sunday morning and all's well then all electronics lost - auto pilot/GPS/wind and speed sensors. Back to basics proper sailing and helming all night.

Monday morning I helmed and Rob and Butch got to work on the electronics and a few hours later Rob traces it back to ANOTHER fishing incident - He'd fallen over AGAIN on the GPS cable while fishing, shorting everything.

Anyway all fixed. to be honest the bigger problem was that my Ipad had stopped working, A good thump and that works now too
Happy days!
Back in the game, Good breeze driving us West and just had cheesburgers.
