Day 4 ... what a day. After a great night of sailing with fair winds and
amazing star coverage, the boat awoke to the doldrums effect - we can't be that
far off course surely?!
Bikinis were out in force from early morning as the crew maintained some
serious tan-watch. By mid-morning, with sleep caught up, the girls broke out the
rubber (gloves) and deep cleaning (the boat) followed. A little magic and fairy
dust and Hotstuff is sparkling once more on the millpond that once was known as
the Atlantic.
A visit to Charlotte's grocery was in order to see what survived a night of
beating upwind. After trawling our way through the paper towel snowstorm, a
serious vitamin C top up took place with more oranges than seen at half-time in
the premiership. Beauty salon took top tips and considered swapping ingredients
for day 7's fake tan appointments.
Karen's pressie came into play this afternoon as Hotstuff was transformed
into the Arc's Ark. Pipe-cleaner animals came in two-by-two - Sir Attenborough
would be amazed at the rare sittings of tigers, butterflies, lobsters and
crocodiles seen only 500NM from Las Palmas. Don't give up the day job
girls!!
The end of the afternoon was a reflection of all that is truly British -
Afternoon Tea! As November is a little early to start Christmas celebrations, we
toasted our American friends with a little thanksgiving soiree. Whilst all the
fairies agreed Mr Kipling does make exceedingly good Fondant fancies, they
didn't quite live up to the Christmas cake made by Skipper Nikki's fantastic
Mummy (feel free to invite us found for seconds GBBO’S star baker!!!)
All of Hot Stuff's crew, without doubt, are thankful to be sharing this
amazing experience with such incredible women - people who epitomise team work
and all that is good in offering and receiving support, care and consideration.
It seemed the perfect moment to share one of the many poem's chosen by friend's
of Tricia - "Phenomenal Women" by Maya Angelan. The words of serene surrounds
were a perfect harmony and yet still all our hearts skipped a beat as we were
visited by more dolphins two minutes later. It's hard to describe the
indescribable breath-taking, emotional moment - WOW.
With love and Fairy Dust from the Girls4ForSail crew on
Hotstuff.
