Abraxas - blog 2

Yesterday we saw more dolphins having turned the engine over for the first time as our voltage had dropped right off.  It was a brilliant sight with them playing around the bow and in our wake.  We have little news from our last to report.  The most exciting occurrence was Gary trying to recover a bucket that he had tried to partly fill with seawater to do the washing up only to find that it was a very effective drogue that we could not recover without luffing up.

Our watch system is working very well and everyone is getting sufficient sleep.  Vis was a little poorer last night but still ample to navigate by the stars as desired.  We are now approx 40nm off land according to our plotter so everyone is starting to get excited about the creature comfort of a warm shower and preparing some food in a flat galley.  We have maintained contact with starblazer, who’s VHF input each day is most valuable. Today we were very impressed as we heard them advise another boat how to fix a  technical SSB problem that they were experiencing.

Signing off for now, next blog anticipated following our arrival in Bayona.
