Amelie d'Oslo - Whales and white russians

Day 6 at sea, bee, three, HIV.

God aften rocket scientists and wing suit flyers!

We are once again coming to you straight from the big blue pool! Sun had again reached its peak, and is now diving down in the sea, for a 10 hours dive (creeds to the sun for holding his breath for so long) before it once again makes its grand entrée tomorrow morning.

Life at sea is, as it was yesterday and probably tomorrow, very comfortable. As I rest my butt in front of this technical device called personal computer we have just dug thorough an awesome dinner. One the menu today we had turkey breast, or to quote the description written on the “carte” at the restaurant here: “Turkey boobs, on a bed of Foid oise accompanied by hand picked war and peace, with a touch of La Sauce”

For those of you that are not so familiar with the Atlantic cuisine, I will of course make a brief explanation:

- Turkey boobs: No explanation needed

- Foid oise: Is fried rice, but as we like to keep our food local because of the huge amount of pollution which comes with food that has been transported for a long time, we even pronounce “fried rice” as they pronounce it over in Asia: Foid Oise.

- War and Pease: Is corn and peas, but much more according to our intellectual level here on the vessel where all the discussion is about war and peace.

La sauce: is the sauce we magically created from three Knor bags and water. But as always, food sounds better on French!

As an entrée we had a white Russian and for desert a beer.

Other events of the day is that we saw whales spouts, and we believe that they were hump back whales heading for the immigration office in the great US, which we know is the land of the free and brave whales.

Our average speed has gone from “pretty slow” to “not so slow as before”, we have even reached “not slow any more but almost fast” on a scale from “sea turtle slow” to “fast as fudge”

The heads has been cleaned (for those of you that did not know what heads are on boat language (including me earlier today) it’s the toilets).

Bendik tried to go without the sea sick medication for 24 hours, but the cravings took over, and I heard him digging through the medication box late night, desperately looking for his O’ so loved drugs.

Other then that the boat is not leaking and Skip-Per today told us “I actually believe we can make this!” We all felt a great relief.

Lady Ann, another boat participating in the ARC, has been sailing in the horizon on our port side today.

Talk to you wonderful people in the internet tomorrow! You are beautiful (if you are not, sell your mirror, and trust what I tell you, you are beautiful)

Love all over you

Kasper
