Reina - ALL HANDS ON DECK!

"BANG!" With a very loud noise the Code1 sail comes of the mast. For a few seconds it is waving alongside the boat and then its falling into the sea. Fortunately at the bottom it holds to the yacht.

"ALL HANDS ON DECK!" Captain Cripps, who at that moment is standing behind the helm, shouts it very loud and everybody understands that this is not a joke. Within seconds the whole crew is on deck pulling the sail aboard. A heavy job. But they succeed. They also manage to get the Code1 in its bag and put the whole thing aside. After this the A2 sail is hoisted and Reina is brought back to an average speed of 11 knots. Time to have breakfast and think things over.

The problem appears to be the halyard swivel. The loop is broken. The rest of the daylight is used to make a new loop and to repair the swivel. The next morning the Code1 is hoisted again. Fortunately the sail is not damaged. The 'new' swivel is perfect. Problem solved. There we go again in good shape to St. Lucia.
