The World Cruising Club Cowes team recently visited Ocean Safety's Southampton depot. As well as seeing lots of ISO, ISAF and ORC rafts from different manufacturers, the team also learned how liferafts are serviced and repacked.
After visiting the service centre, the tour viewed Ocean Safety's own Ocean ISO rafts under test in the manufacturing area before viewing the entire product range in the training room.
If you are interested in buying an Ocean Safety product, you can visit the depot to learn about the different products and to help you make a decision. Boat shows are also a great place to view a range of liferafts, lifejackets/PFDs and other safety equipment.
If you have your liferaft serviced by an authorised centre like Ocean Safety, be sure to ask to view the service. This is a great opportunity to see what your liferaft actually looks like, and to ask for extra items to be packed into the raft, such as spectacles/glasses or boat's papers.
