Andy Schell and Mia Karlsson from the World Cruising Team will be at the annual Open Yard show at Orust, Sweden this coming weekend from 21-23 August. This relaxed weekend event combines an in-water boat show, with a cruiser rendezvous, all in a delightful setting just north of Gothenburg, Sweden. As well as boats from leading bluewater yards, there are shore-side equipment displays, cruising talks and social functions, to make it a very worthwhile weekend.
If you are visiting the Open Yard, come and say hello to Andy and Mia in tent 75. They will have updates and news on all our rallies for 2016 including ARC, World ARC, Caribbean 1500, ARC Europe and of course the Malts Cruise! As an experienced ocean skipper, Andy is also available to answer your questions about boat and equipment set-up for offshore sailing.
Amongst the boats on show during the weekend will be the new Discovery 55 MKII, the latest interpretation of this solid blue-water favourite, on dock number 90. The latest Discovery yacht is open to visitors and Caroline, John and Mark look forward to welcoming you aboard. Also look out for the exciting range of XC cruisers from X-Yachts on docks 41-42.
