The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is a registered charity that has pioneered practical, locally-based education and monitoring programmes on cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) in the Hebrides. HWDT is based in Tobermory, Isle of Mull from where we conduct long-term monitoring of distribution, abundance and habitat use of the cetaceans in Hebridean waters. The aim of this monitoring work is to provide those who manage Scotland's marine wildlife and habitats with information they need to achieve effective conservation of the area's extraordinary biodiversity.
